As you know, buying a home is a big investment, of both your time and your money, so educate yourself. I think you'll find that being a home owner beats renting hands down, especially if you're concerned about planning for the future. Paying rent doesn't build equity ($$$), so mowing your own yard, and fixing your own leaky sink is a small price to pay for what your home can do for you financially!
